School, Teacher, and Leadership Impacts on Student Achievement

In this article we can find different aspects which have to be taken into account when considering student’s achievements. The teacher’ role as a leader and the schools regulation impact on the students achievements. On the other hand, talks about how we can make effective school or maximize the student’s tasks by implementing strategies and standards at schools.
We do not believe in how much the teacher presence can affect the student’s performance, for example his or her expertise, proficiency, knowledge, etc; just for mentioning some aspects, these points affect greatly the students development in the classroom. Not just the teacher’s role affects the student’s preparation but also the different school norms or policies, a good programs, syllabuses, objectives, etc.
Strategies can be implemented in curriculum schools because they might enhance greatly their learning, activities such as summarizing, identifying similarities and differences, setting goals and providing feedback to deepen in understanding.
In addition the staff at school it is another topic, which mean, to prepare staff with the necessary skills by induction programs which give guidance and capacity to instruct student properly. This may be seemed as a kind of license for teacher and administrator who are willing to teach and cooperate for a better education. All these have to do with the student performance and its learning at best.
Leadership in the classroom has to be taken seriously in order to achieve educational goal in all levels. Teachers with these characteristics have to plan teaching with this criteria, if willing to perform a good teaching and reach out his/her goals. In other words, to change the traditional system considering all these aspect.

  1. Analysis of the movie: “Chicken Run”

    Chicken run is a movie which has a lot of characters who show a degree of leadership, during the process by which all the community try to reach the goal they set, run away from the farm. Rocky and Ginger are the most outstanding characters leading in the movie.
    At the beginning Fowler used to lead the whole farm, this because he was the roost of the farm and all the hens needed him. He was an old roost who took part in the World War II who used to fly planes of the Royal Air Force. Although, he was no longer able to lead the farm to run away, so Ginger, who was the kind of leader who is followed by the community because of her conviction and willingness to save them all from what seemed to be the end. She was also loved by all the community because she really worried about their problems, which they had in common, so she was a bit employee oriented; took the control, and who made up many plans to escape, even though no one had been successful at all. Until one day when she was making up a new plan, she suddenly saw a roost coming straight to the farm, but not like a common roost would, this one was flying; and then many ideas came to her mind, that roost was the end of the farm’s problem.
    That roost was called Rocky, he was the main attraction of the circus, he was the “flying roost”. When he landed the farm he was very injured because of the fall the had just had. When Ginger found him laying on the floor she help him of stand up, and told him about the problem she and the whole farm had, they were going to be baked, by the farmers if they were not able to run away from that place, but he had no idea why she was telling him that story if he could not do anything to help them. After discussing, they reached an agree, he was going the teach them to fly. Risht after that moment he becomes in the new leader.
    The following day the whole farm’ hens were ready to learn to fly. But the truth was that Rocky was not able to fly, neither to teach someone. So, having no choice he begins the “training”, and suddenly he became a contingency leader, he just the kind of person who are able to lead certain group of people who have a goal in common, but not because of his leader characteristics and skills, he just did what hew though was the best he could, because now the whole farm was depending of his flying skills.
    At the end, when Rocky decides to give up and let the farm by their own, Ginger takes the control once again, she never gives up and never stops believing in her abilities to lead the farm. Then, she makes up a plan, she decides to build an aero plane, just like the one in which Fowler used to fly. But this time, everyone should help her to make it. And so they do, the followed Gingers decisions, decisions they approved, because they though they were the best for the community.

    You possess many of the personality traits of a leader. Research has shown that people who possess certain characteristics are more likely to emerge as leaders and experience greater success in such positions. A person who is naturally inclined to take charge is outgoing, enjoys interacting with others and is easy to get along with. He or she is also open-minded and able to adjust to different circumstances as well as accommodate others. In addition, a good leader follows rules, believes in him or herself, is organized and responsible, and also possesses significant emotional stability, which means that he or she is resilient and optimistic even in the face of difficult situations.
    Leadership is a skill that as teacher we all must have in order to lead our students to successful learning, in which they really learn what we teach them. So, our goal to set is to practice that skill to become better teachers and give our students the best of our work as teachers.
    I think this test has showed me the real importance leadership skill has on teachers during the questions it has, I could think of those specific situations in which we use our ability for problem solving, taking control of situations, and some others that requires this ability in us. There are many characteristics required to become a leader, one of them is the ability of interacting with other people, I think this is one of the most important, because for example, as teachers we will be in touch with people all the time, and if we do not know how to deal with them we will be in trouble. The results of this test place me in a “leadership potential” people, what makes me think of the need I have to work on my weaknesses, and to use my opportunities and abilities to increase my potential as a leader.
